NCOE Community Programs Administrative Assistant

Hello, my name is Heather. I am the Program Assistant for all NCOE AmeriCorps programs. I am originally from Hercules, CA but lived in Chico before moving to Napa. I love helping people, and I love the variety. As the admin assistant, I get to work with all of the programs in our department in different ways. I don't ever feel stuck in one place or that I'm always doing the same thing everyday. I love the sense of community that comes with the AmeriCorps members. I love that the members are so different and from so many different places, but they can all come together for a common goal, and they all support each other along the way. An interesting fact about me is that I've walked across burning coals! A bit of advice I would give future members is to keep an open mind and to answer all of my emails.
